The Lifespark's chassis is milled from a solid piece of aluminum and features a pass-through design with two removable end-caps which allows access from both ends of the storage space; which by the way can hold handfuls of tinder and/or small survival tools. Both end-caps feature extremely durable, wax-bonded leather washers which create a water tight seal to keep your tinder dry in any weather condition or in the event that it becomes submerged. The full-grain leather flint sheath, is fully infused with beeswax for a waterproof finish and then saddle stitched with tough linen thread. Our 20,000 strike, 4 inch ferrocerium rod is considered the best in the world, is replaceable, and tethered to one of the end-caps to prevent it from being lost. The Lifespark features all stainless steel hardware, including the removable 440A hardened stainless steel ferro-rod scraper which has four different precision ground edges, which means you don’t have to worry about dulling the scraper. If it ever does wear, simply remove it and re-sharpen.
